Welcome to the page for St. George's Church
Our Vicar!
Our vicar, Adam Maynard, joined us in September 2018. Pop along one Sunday morning to meet him... or say 'Hi' to him at the school gate!
Church!
You're always welcome to join us on a Sunday in church. We have 2 services. Our 9am service is a quiet, reflective service which alternates between Morning Prayer and Holy Communion. It usually finishes by 9:45am. It's normally only adults who come. Children are more than welcome, but there aren't any planned activities for them. Our 11am service usually has around 35-55 adults and around 5-20 children. It usually finishes by 12:15pm. Children of all ages are welcome. We alternate between All Age Worship (where we all stay in church together and do activities which we can all join in with), and Holy Communion services. At Holy Communion services we have separate activites for adults and kids from the age of 4 up. We have a great team of leaders, all of whom are DBS checked and safely recruited. Younger children are very welcome in the service and we don't mind a bit (or even a lot) of noise!
Baptism!
If you'd like your child to be baptised, then do get in touch with Adam at Church. We generally do baptisms on the 4th Sunday of the month (except when it's Easter or Christmas, or in August). We ask you to come to church for a few weeks before to prepare.
Roof!
We're nearly finished our Phase 2 of our roof repairs. Phase 1 took place between Nov 2014 - May 2015. Lots of work was done on the roof which means now when it rains we don't get quite so wet inside! We're fortunate to have been awarded a grant from HLF but it doesn't cover the whole cost. If you'd like to contribute towards our roof repairs we'd be really grateful - you can do so at https://www.justgiving.com/stgeorgeseverton/
