English as an Additional Language (EAL)
Everyone at The Beacon CE School has the right to an outstanding education. We are proud to welcome families from a wealth of cultures and backgrounds and value the rich diversity of our school community.
We have a diverse community with over 30 languages being spoken at home. Therefore, it is our aim to ensure that every child learns to the best of their ability within the rights-respecting ethos of the school and EAL is important in achieving this aim. We believe that language should not be a barrier to learning but a beneficial tool to our pupils and school.
We are proud to have a diverse and inclusive curriculum for all children. The introduction of Flash Academy EAL learning platform enables children to develop their English language acquisition and proficiency skills with interactive lessons, supporting children in accessing the whole curriculum.
We ensure that all children, parents and carers are valued and included in our school community. We provide a welcoming atmosphere for newly arrived pupils from around the world and celebrate their backgrounds and culture!
