Radiotherapy Support Worker Class Visit

Lesson: Understanding the World

Class: Reception A Year: 2023 - 2024

As part of our learning about 'real' superheroes, Reception had a really interesting visit from a parent with a special job. We learnt about what a radiotherapy support worker does to help sick people and what equipment they use to do their very important job. They work with doctors and nurses to help patients and also support scientists by taking blood and urine samples. Being a radiotherapy support worker can be dangerous being exposed to all of that radiation, so they use a radiation monitor to check their exposure and keep themselves safe. Such an interesting visit! Thank you to our parent giving up their time to come and tell us about their job.
