Welcome to the page for St. George's Church

Church!

You're always welcome to join us on a Sunday in church. We have 2 services. Our 9am service usually has around 12-18 people. It's a quiet, reflective service which alternates between Morning Prayer and Holy Communion. It usually finishes by 9:45am. It's normally only adults who come. Children are more than welcome, but there aren't any planned activities for them. Our 11am service usually has around 35-55 adults and around 5-20 children. It usually finishes by 12:15pm. It alternates between All Age Worship (where we all stay in church together and do activities which we can all join in with), and Holy Communion. At Holy Communion services we have separate activites for adults and kids. The adults stay in church throughout. 0-3s go to the back room for Tots' Church. 4-7s, 8-11s & 12-16s go across the road to the Albion for Kids' Church and Youth Church. We have plenty of helpers, all of whom are DBS checked and safely recruited.

Baptism!

If you'd like your child to be baptised, then do get in touch with Kate or Ashley at Church. We generally do baptisms at 12:45pm on the 4th Sunday of the month (except when it's Easter or Christmas, or in August). We ask you to come to church for a few weeks before to prepare.

Messy Thursday!

If you enjoy all of our Messy events, the good news is you can now come along every single week in school time! Messy Thursdays are on every week that school is on, led by Kate, Ashley and Mrs Palmer in the school hall from 3:25-4:15. Everyone is welcome. If you're in Y5 or Y6 you can stay on your own if your parent/carer has signed a permission slip. If you're in Y4 or below an adult has to stay with you. We have stories, songs, games and crafts and we always finish with juice and doughnuts!

Signpost!

Every Tuesday morning in term time, church is open from 10:00-12:00. You're really welcome to drop in for a free cuppa and some toast. You might just want to have a chat with friends, or have a look round the church if you never really have. You might want someone to talk to or pray with. You might need help with something - debt problems, housing advice or anything else. We might not know the answer straight away but we'll help you figure it out! Drop in any time.

Roof!

We're currently fundraising for Phase 2 of our roof repairs. Phase 1 took place between Nov 2014 - May 2015. Lots of work was done on the roof which means now when it rains we don't get quite so wet inside! However there's still a lot of work to be done, so we need to raise some more money. We're fortunate also to have been awarded a grant from HLF. If you'd like to contribute towards our roof repairs we'd be really grateful - you can do so at https://www.justgiving.com/stgeorgeseverton/
