Chess in Schools

At The Beacon, we use the expert tutors from Chess in Schools to deliver chess as part of our INSPIRE curriculum. Currently, our Year 4 pupils are receiving a lesson a week by trained tutors. The children progress from the rules of the game to foundational tactics and strategy. They acquire a life-long skill, opening up an affordable and enjoyable game of limitless depth.

Children also take part in Chess Tournaments within School and outside school.
