Autumn 1: Islamic Prayer Beads

Class: Reception N Year: 2023 - 2024

In our RE lessons we have been talking about the importance of names and we linked this to other world faiths. Reception N had a lovely parent visit to talk to us about Islamic prayer beads 'Subhah". We learnt that the 99 beads on the Subhah are special and important names given to Allah by Muslims.

The names are constant reminders of the characteristics of Allah and how he wants Muslims to behave i.e showing genorosity and being kind to others. We also learnt that Muslims keep track of their prayers using the beads, electronic Subhah and the inside patterns of their hands and say all the 99 names of Allah.
