Physical Education

At the Beacon we realise the importance that Physical Education plays in a childs: Mental, Physical and social development and well-being. We offer every child in our school at least 2 hours of Physical activity a week. This is done through: Lessons, Lunchtime clubs and also extra curricular clubs.

Every Child from Reception- Year 6 has the opportunity to go swimming in the school year, and we feel it is vitally important that children are able to swim a mininum of 25m by the time they leave school, as well as being taught the importance of Water Safety.

We also look to offer a wider range of experiences in sports that children may not have the opportunity to take part in outside of school. This year we are offering skiing lessons and water sports lessons, as part of our mission to offer our children experiences that may not be available to them without our support. We are also offering a Yoga after school club this year. (See Below for some images of our skiing and water sports lessons)

Children will also have oppportunities to take part in competitions throughout the year through our partnership with the LSSP. You can keep up to date with any competitions we take part in through our school twitter account.
