Welcome to the Year 3J Page.

I am so happy to welcome the children back. Over the next few months, we have a lot of very exciting learning opportunities planned.

The Year 3J class teacher is Mr Jackson with Miss Cavadino teaching English, Mr Fletcher teaching RE and Mrs Shepard teaching French.

During the Year 3 school week, 3J will be doing PE on a Thursday. Please ensure that PE kits are in on a Thursday with names on ALL items of clothing. Your child will also need their own labelled water bottle in school each day.

InHarmony will be on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Children are welcome to take their instruments home over the weekend. However, it is vital they are return every Tuesday for our lessons.

Homework is given out on Fridays and is due in on the following Tuesday. Homework will include activities to secure learning from the week and will be based around English and maths, as well as short multiple-choice quizzes based on their knowledge organiser.

Here are some links you may need to access homework;

Reading is a very important aspect of learning. Please send reading bags into school every day along with the reading book which has been sent home. Children will have a reading book and a book from the accelerated reader scheme, children should read these to become as familiar with them as possible, discussing new words and developing their understanding of the story.

To achieve a sticker in your reading record and work towards completing your reading rainbow, remember to read 5 nights out of every 7.

Spellings will be uploaded to Readiwriter and Seesaw every Monday. Children will then have a week to practise their spellings at home and in school before their weekly spelling test the following Monday.

Resources to support home learning of spellings include:

  • Y2 Common Exception Words
  • Y3 Common Exception Words
  • Weekly Y3 Spelling List.

If you have any questions about any aspect of your child’s learning, please don’t hesitate to ask me at the end of the school day.

Thank you,

Mr Jackson

Our school is a rights respecting school. In 3J, our favourite right is article 28 - Every child has the right to education no matter who they are: regardless of race, gender or disability; if they're in detention, or if they're a refugee.
