3 - 4 Nursery 1 2019 - 2020

Mrs Armstrong

Welcome to Nursery Class Page!

Here you will find our class news, as well as being able to look at our gallery to find out about what exciting things we have been doing in Nursery. We are very much looking forward to having lots of fun in Nursery this year!

The teacher in Nursery Class class is Mrs Armstrong, and our teaching assistants are Miss Quilliam and Miss Goble. Your child will also have a Key Person.

School Closure and Home Learning

We have put together a Home Learning Resource pack for you to work on with your child. You will find a variety of resources which will enable you to continue your child’s learning whilst at home. When working on activities, please record using our online Learning Journal, Tapestry. You will need to log in using your secure username and password. You will be able to view all of your child’s observations, photographs and even video clips. You can also contribute by using this to record the activities your child will be working on at home and staff will be able to observe how they are getting on.

You can log in to Tapestry by visiting; https://eylj.org/index.php?app=core&module=school§ion=login&do=process&schoolId=2148

Staff will also post activities on Tapestry, from a programme called Easy Peasy, for you to take part in with your child weekly. These activities use everyday items that you will have at home to support your child’s learning. You can work through the activity and record your child taking part and upload onto Tapestry.

Important reminders for Nursery:

* Please ensure all of your child's uniform has their name in it. If anything goes missing, it is very difficult to find it if it does not have a name in.

* Home School Diaries are given out on the child's final session each week. We would love to hear about their time at home so together we can build a better picture of your unique child. Please bring them in on your child's first weekly session.

* Bedtime Stories will be given out on the final session each week. These stories are for you to enjoy with your child to help us embed a love of reading. We ask that the story be returned to school the following week for someone else to enjoy.

* It is important your child has their book bag in every day to take home any letters and wonderful creations!

* In EYFS we love learning outside, even if it's wet! Please bring to school a pair of wellies, which are labelled with your child's name.

* Please ensure your child's clothing, especially jumpers or cardigans are clearly labelled with your child's name.

* We ask that you bring in spare clothes for your child, and return any items borrowed from school so we can keep all children clean and dry.

Tapestry Online Learning Journal

Here at the Beacon we have subscribed to a fantastic online learning journal that gives you the opportunity to see what adventures your child has been up to during their day at school from a computer or mobile device. By logging on with a secure username and password you will be able to view all of your children’s observations, photographs and even video clips from their time in Nursery. You can also contribute by commenting on your child’s learning and sharing your own observations and wow moments with us so we can build a better picture of your child.

Please ask a member of the team for more information - We are always happy to help. https://eylj.org/index.php?app=core&module=school§ion=login&do=process&schoolId=2148

Please feel free to come and speak to any of us at the end of the day with any queries.

We invite you to scroll down our class page to see Nursery Class in action!
